Pauly's Project is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles County, dedicated to serving those experiencing barriers to housing and employment. Our Covina warehouse serves as the heartbeat of our operations — housing our offices and donations, prepping hygiene kits, and organizing supplies for weekly outreach missions.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and community-minded Warehouse Lead to help manage our operations hub, pickup donations, and coordinate the logistics of our biweekly outreach missions in DTLA and SGV. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment and wants to be part of a growing mission to restore dignity and hope to those experiencing homelessness. This position includes participating in curbside street outreach and supervising volunteers in accordance with Pauly’s Project safety policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations of our central warehouse
Receive, sort, and inventory donations (food, hygiene items, clothing, sleeping bags, etc.)
Coordinate volunteer shifts and warehouse access
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working space
Track supply levels and communicate inventory needs
Prepare outreach kits for weekly distributions
Communicate with Pauly’s Project leadership about logistics and supply requests
Support our outreach events (loading/unloading supplies) which take place every 1st and 3rd Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Provide basic supervision and guidance to volunteers during warehouse work and outreach events.
Required Qualifications:
Ability to drive a cargo van
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to lift boxes (up to 40 lbs) and perform physical warehouse duties
Reliable transportation and punctuality
Self-motivated with good communication skills
Comfortable working with volunteers and diverse community members
Passion for serving the unhoused and understanding of mutual aid values
Willingness to complete required safety and de-escalation training (provided by Pauly’s Project).
🔹 Ability to work safely in outdoor environments (heat, rain, uneven surfaces, proximity to traffic, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in mutual aid or community outreach settings
Previous warehouse, stockroom, or nonprofit logistics experience
Bilingual in English (speaking and writing) and Spanish (speaking)
Work Environment:
This role is based in our Covina warehouse. Some tasks involve indoor/outdoor work, standing, bending, and lifting.
For our outreach events (every 1st and 3rd Saturday and Sundays), the distribution happens curbside at encampments around Downtown LA and low income housing complexes in San Gabriel Valley.
Outreach environments may include exposure to weather, nearby traffic, pets, and other unpredictable conditions; staff are expected to follow all organizational safety guidelines.

Compensation & Schedule:
Compensation: $25/hr
Part-time, up to 20 hours a week
Every 1st & 3rd Sunday Outreach: 9:00AM to 3:00PM (mid-week schedule is flexible otherwise)
